SALT LAKE CITY (October 2, 2026) – Derek Miller, president and CEO of the Utah Chamber, issued the following statement regarding the permitting reform bill, Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026:

“The Utah Chamber is committed to advancing policies that strengthen Utah’s economy and promote prosperity for our businesses and communities. A modern, predictable permitting process gives employers the certainty to invest in the critical projects a prospering state needs, and the passage of the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026 would help deliver it. Permitting reform is one of our top federal priorities, and we are grateful to Sen. Mike Lee and his bipartisan colleagues for their leadership in advancing it. We urge Congress to act swiftly and send this bill to the president’s desk.”
